No more wasting time scraping glass glue! Today's post brings a simple tutorial for you to learn how to remove glass stickers and, thus, be able to reuse that cool glass pot without suffering.

In fact, it is not only in supermarket jars that the adhesive glue is impregnated. Car windows, windows and doors for appliances, such as an oven and microwave, for example, also suffer from this problem.

And, let's face it, what we want most in this life is practicality. So, let's follow the tips below.

How to remove glass sticker – tips and homemade recipes

Hot water and soap

The first simple recipe for removing glass glue is using warm water with mild soap.

To do this, just leave the glass container in a bowl with hot water and detergent (one tablespoon is enough).

It is important that the glass jar is submerged in the water. Soak it for about 30 minutes. Then, just pass a loofah over the adhesive and it detaches easily.

Tip: don't remove the label first. After the glass is soaked, both the glue and the paper label come out easily.

Baking and oil

Some types of glue come out more easily with the use of oil. In this case, the recipe consists of diluting about one tablespoon of vegetable oil, of those used for cooking, with approximately one dessert spoon of bicarbonate.

Mix well until it becomes a paste. Then spread this mixture over the label on the glass container and leave it there for about 20 minutes.

Then just remove with the help of a soft sponge. Wash well afterwards with detergent to remove the fat from the oil.

Tip: this recipe works for both glass containers and jars, as well as glass surfaces like windows and doors.

Oil

If you don't have baking soda at home, you can use only oil to remove the glue from the glass.

Just drop a few drops directly on the adhesive, wait for about ten minutes and then remove with a cloth or sponge.

Hot water and vinegar

Vinegar, as it should be, is also a great ally in removing glue from glass.

Here, the tip is to take a bowl and fill it with hot water. Then add about ½ cup of white vinegar.

Place the glass container in this mixture, leaving it to soak for approximately 20 minutes.

The glue should come off easily with the help of a sponge.

Tip: this recipe also works very well for removing glue from glass surfaces. To do this, moisten a cloth with vinegar and gently rub over the glue you want to remove. Then wipe everything with a soft, dry cloth.

Lemon

Like vinegar, lemon can also be used to remove glue from glass.

The citric acid present in the lemon juice helps the glue to come off easily. For this recipe you will need the juice of a lemon diluted in hot water.

Pass this mixture over the label with the glue and wait a few minutes. Then remove everything using a soft sponge.

Scotch tape

As a last resort, you can try using adhesive tape to remove the glue from the glass. That's right!

But for this trick to work, the glue from the duct tape must be very strong, so it can hold on to the glue on the glass.

Start by cutting a piece of tape and gluing it over the area where the adhesive glue is. Then, make a light friction so that the tape glue "sticks" to the other glue.

Then just pull it really fast and see the magic happen: the glue on the glass is all glued to the adhesive tape.

Hair dryer

Another trick that promises to tear the glue from the glass with ease is the hair dryer.

The heat emitted by the device manages to soften the glue, causing it to detach from the glass.

This technique is highly recommended for surface adhesives, such as windows and doors.

The first thing you should do is turn the hairdryer on to the hot air option.

Then direct the air to the adhesive. Keep the dryer on the spot for about two to three minutes.

You will notice that the side edges of the sticker will start to come off. This is the point to remove the glue and paper together.

Unplug the appliance and pull the sticker with your fingertips. The glue should come off completely. If you notice any resistance, direct the jet of hot air from the dryer for a while longer.
