Who are the Patati Patatá clowns?
With more than 300 thousand DVD’s sold all over the country, Patati Patatá celebrates a career about to turn 30 years old. But did you know that there are more than one Patati and Patatá out there? Yes, there is!
To understand this story it is necessary to go back a little bit in time. In 1983, “Patati Patatá” was, in fact, a group of circus artists and not a duo as we know today. This group was formed by the magician Rinaldo Faria, the ballerina Garota Pupy and the clown duo Tuti Fruti and Pirulito.
However, in 1985, the group suffered a tragic car accident, where only Rinaldo Faria survived.
After the accident, in 1989, Rinaldo decided to finance the return of “Patati Patatá”, but reformulating the model that was known until then. With that, the group became the pair of clowns we know today and Rinaldo went from magician to brand entrepreneur.
In 2011, Patati Patatá debuted on TV and since then fame and success have increased every day. To fulfill the schedule of shows, there are currently about six pairs that take turns taking circus art, music and dance for children from all over Brazil.
