Did you know that with just six Lego blocks it is possible to create almost a million different combinations? Now, visualize all these creative possibilities at a party. Yes, the Lego Party is one of the most fun, imaginative and “do it yourself” themes that exists.
You liked the idea, right? Then come follow this post with us. We'll show you how to make a special Lego Party.
88 years of history
Who knew, but these building bricks made of plastic have already hit the home of 88 years. However, even with old age, they did not lose their strength, grace and magic and, in the 21st century, they are still considered the favorite toy of children and adults around the world.
The history of the Lego brand has its origins in the city of Billound, Denmark, in the middle of the year 1932. At the time, the carpenter and builder of houses, Olé Kirk Christiansen suffered from the European recession. It was the lack of work and resources that ended up directing the carpenter to make toys. Little did Christiansen know, but he had just brought one of the most popular and beloved toys in the world to life.
However, the shape of plastic blocks we know today was only created in 1950, before that, Lego toys were made of wood.
Currently, the Lego brand is present in virtually every country in the world. Toy manufacturers say that if the Lego pieces produced in just one year were lined up, it would be possible to go around the Earth five times. Just to give you an idea, there are 1140 pieces produced per second every single day.
And an interesting curiosity: Brazil holds the record for having produced the largest Lego tower in the world, almost 32 meters high.
Lego Party and its Subthemes
With so many little pieces going around, you can even imagine the vastness of themes that can be produced for the Lego party. That's right! The Lego Party can unfold into another theme thanks to the countless possibilities that the toy offers.
The brand itself has already launched several versions of the toy inspired by drawings, films and famous characters. The most popular of these is the Lego Star Wars, which features one of the rarest minifigures in the world.
There are also Lego versions for the superhero Batman and the Avengers, for example. There is also Lego inspired by Disney princesses and the game Minecraft. Not to mention Lego Ninjago, a special series launched by the brand.
In addition to these licensed versions, the toy still allows you to explore different other themes, after all, that's what it exists for: to unleash your imagination and create whatever you want.
Ultimately, you end up with two themes in one.
How to make a Lego Party
Lego Party Invitations
Every party starts with the invitation. It is there that the thing begins to take shape and materializes. Therefore, the ideal is to think of an invitation that refers to the Lego Party theme.
This can be simpler than you think, just count on the good old "do it yourself".
Cut out square and / or rectangular pieces of colored paper (preferably with a heavy weight, as is the case with cardboard). To create the 3D Lego effect, cut out polka dots and paste on the invitation using thick double-sided tape. Then just fill in your hand or print out the party information.
Another option (especially for those who want to send invitations online) is to look for ready-made Lego Party invitation templates. The internet is full of them, you just need to customize and you're done.
Hand out invitations about a month in advance.
Lego Party Decorations
Colors
After resolving the invitation template, it was time to plan the decoration and details of the Lego Party.
And the first thing that must be defined is the color palette. Originally, Lego has basic colors, usually primary, and very playful. Therefore, the shades of yellow, red and blue are the most used. White, black and green are also very common.
And, depending on the theme, you can include other colors like pink, purple, brown, in addition to metallic shades, such as silver and gold.
Decorative elements
At a Lego party, you can't miss Lego, of course! Use and abuse the little pieces to assemble throughout the decoration.
Create useful accessories like napkin holders, candy holders and cup holders, for example, all made of Lego, have you thought?
You can also make centerpieces with loose pieces inside glass containers. Guests will have fun during the party.
Another option is to create panels and flags with pieces of paper Lego, following the same idea as the invitation.
Want more ideas? So how about some giant Lego to complete the decor? For that, line cardboard boxes and create the 3D effect using double-sided tape.
Menu
And what to serve at the Lego Party? Here, the tip is the same as the decoration: customize everything! From drinks to food.
Transform snacks into Lego pieces, make brownies with chocolate confetti simulating the toy's inserts and serve colorful drinks to increase the party's relaxed atmosphere.
Cupcakes and cookies decorated with American paste are also a great choice. The important thing is to personalize everything, as much as you can.
Lego Cake
Now imagine if the Lego Party cake is not going to be amazing? Of course it will!
For this theme, the cakes in square and rectangular shape are perfect, as they simulate the original shape of the small pieces. But you can also opt for round models and even with floors.
In the decoration of the cake, the American paste has advantages, since it allows to recreate little pieces identical to the original ones.
For the top of the cake the tip is to use minifigures, the famous Lego dolls.
Lego Party
And what do you think the kids will want to take home when the party is over? Favors full of Lego inside.
So the number one tip is to bet on little bags with little pieces to mount inside. You can spice it up with sweets and minifigures.
Another option is the classic jars or candy bags.
